i have a 88 bronco that i cant renew the tag do to one of the PO's...

i want to make it into a designated trail/recovery rig. the palns are below:

6inch lift
axle swap/upgrade (if needed)
36"interco swampers
propane injection (or cumin swap) which would be better?
bumpers
front and rear winch

what do you think i should do with the motor?
it is a 300 CID inline six, multipoint injection.

the propane sounds like a great idea... which would be better?

If the 300I-6 runs good I would just leave it in there(they are pretty good motors and u can build one torquey bitch)If the 300 is too old and crappy I would build a 351w,it will bolt-up to your trans and would be an easy swap

are you sure that it will.... i have the 4speed with granny... that would be wicked... can anyone say a ticket for 120 plus comming?

the six that is in there right now has several issues. but still a strong engine, tows a 25 foot steel trailer with a small backhoe on it without trying.

for the problems:
the whole exaust needs to be fixed, tune-up, oil, water pump, throttle position sensor, egr, (No smog pump), need the driver side motor mount (just replaced the passenger side), if there is anything else that i can think of i will post it...

trying to decide what would be cheaper...

might go find a 351w and put a propane injection kit on it...:grinpimp: that would be original... in its own way... i will post pics of it stock and the process... it may take a couple years... definately a couple years to get the finished project!

trying to decide what would be cheaper...Its usually cheaper to keep what ya got.Plus if you keep the 300 for now you can still wheel the truck while you build the 351w.
