buy the tera knuckle, ditch the front swaybar mounts, build a custom tracklbar mount and trackbar with small RE joints on both ends, run 3/4" x 3/4" heims with high misalignment spacers on both ends of the drag link to get the bolt size down to 5/8" and allow for a flat drag link, run a tie rod from knuckle to knuckle-over the knuckle with some joint on either end and call it good.

I wish I had...

I did the WJ knuckle swap to a crossover setup this past year. I wanted stronger brakes, stronger links (including rod ends) and better steering geometry. I did get all three, but it was costly and time consuming. I had to make a custom trackbar mount among other things. At the same time I elected to change the way my front springs/shocks were implemented. Turns out a month long project became 4 months long and money spent became close to twice of what I originally intended to spend. But I have great brakes and steering so it seems to be worth it.

The Tera Knuckle will give you stronger links and better steering geometry and later if you want it MAYBE better brakes. I say maybe better brakes because there is a couple of brake upgrade kits available for the Cherokee that MAY be compatible with the Tera knuckle. If this is the case you could setup your steering and at a later date shell out some more dough on the brakes. That is the upside of the Tera approach. The tera kit needs a raised trackbar mount as well and has the same suspension interference issues I experienced in doing my WJ project.

There is a crossover kit, OffRoadOnly U-Turn Steering kit. It is pretty much a bolt-in kit if I remember correctly that doesn't require any changes to the trackbar. This is the easiest way to get crossover, but it doesn't fix everything I mentioned above. Not sure how strong the links are in the kit including rod ends. Steering isn't raised as high which is both a blessing and a curse. The kit isn't cheap but should be fairly easy to install.

I am pretty certain there is at least one other crossover kit offered, but I can't come up with any names at the time.

I'm planning on using a shortened Chevy 3/4 ton tie rod mounted on top of the stock knuckles (retapered of course) and using the Chevy's stabilizer shock mounting point, on the tie rod (will have to retaper that to come in from the front, though), to tie the drag link in. Cheap, strong and easy to replace if you should tweak it....and did I mention cheap?---------Hans

please carry 4 or 5 of the reamed pieces with you as spares for on the trail....

I've been on trips where we've had 2 and 3 of them break in the same trip...

that hole that was designed for a STEERING DAMPENER wasn't designed for the loading that a invited T setup puts on it...

Why wouldn't you just ream the TRE??

The teraflex piece is cool, but a WJ knuckle swap is cheaper and works really well.
