Has anyone considered reworking the entire drivetrain/suspension of a Ranger or other side-by-side to accomadate Samurai axles? This is something that I've desired to do for some time now and I think that it could turn into a VERY custom and capable rig!

It has been done to rangers, rhinos, and even prowlers.

why would you waste your money? you could build a fully built sami for the price of a stock ranger or rhino.

Building a Sammi would be a waste of money! :flipoff2: I just think that it would be a cool rig, and if you had a platform to start with that didn't cost ya much, you could get into it without dumping loads of cash as long as ya did everything yourself.

No way to do it cheap...but it has been done by some left coast retard already. Shoot there has even been a prowler on 44s....

The prowler was on 46s. The only one I have seen cheap was a theft recovery stripped rhino that they bolted the body on a samurai frame.
They had around 3000 in it i think but I really didn't like it.
I have a very built samurai and for what I have in it I could not buy a stock ranger, rhino etc.
They are way too expensive for what they are...

Yeah, I saw that rig. I even passed those pics on to my buddy. I really wish that there were some detailed shots of the engine/transmission/t-case setup. It looks pretty good as is, but it would have looked even better if they had stretched the wheelbase more. Now I wonder how functional it is?

The prowler has a sami t-case and axles.
I was thinking of the AC 4-wheeler that had 44s, the prowler had 46" baja claws.

Ever been to the SEMA show? Seems that the left coast retards are the ones setting most of the trends in the off road, on road, side by side and nearly every other market. If you spend a lot of time and money to build a one of a kind project I think you call it inovation not retardation(imho). Heck anyone can build a jeep buggy thing from a rusty old swingset. Granted a 44" tire Rhino on a Sami chassis is not for everyone but if it is done clean You have to admit it's pretty cool.

I bet that thing would kick in the mud though.

It would be better with atv tires than truck tires.
