Does anyone know what kind of weather is expected this weekend ? Coming up 06/14 night leaving Sunday . Need to know what kind of gear to bring . Also are they allowing fires by Loon or do you need a permit ? THANKS .

As of now, it looks like like it should be sunny and warm, cool at night. It can rain at anytime up here this time of year. You can still have camp fires with a permit:).

thanks you very much . i know 2 years ago i went up and got a huge ticket for having a fire but then again that was around august . we ussally camp right before the second dam before the outhouse on the side by the lake . thanks for the info .

At this rate it will be pretty darn warm up there. But of course you'll get wind in the afternoons.

it is very nice up here and supposed to stay nice upper 70's I didnt have the usual ice on my windshield this morning

it's going to get up to triple digits in the vally around mid week, should be really nice up there

We are going up on Thurs afternoon. Camping at the spillwell Thurs night and heading for Buck on Fri. Should be a great weekend. The forecast for Tahoe is upper 70's during the day and low 40's at night.

Don't forget the Deet. Skeeters are usually bad this time of year especially in the wet shady areas.

i was up there last weekend...sunny and warm all weekend...slight breeze....windy as hell through the bowl though..

but it is the mountais and like jen said, it can change at anytime. ive been up there and one minutes its nice an sunny, 30 mins later we got dumped with hail

Not anymore, went to get a permit for my trip tommorow and no more fires just propane stoves.:D

When ever I look for weather on the Rubicon I go to weather.com and type in norden. That is the donner area which is a simular attitude. I have had good luck with that.
