Any suggestions on bracing/strengthening the body where the "B" pillar used to be? I was thinking tube down to the frame tied in to the "B" hoop :confused:
Plan is to flatbed and enclose with 3/16" 3x2 rectangle, swap the t-19 for a 727, and propane conversion.

Looks good to me, that is what I am going to do after the first time I flop mine over. Run some tube around the edges and tie it into the frame, add a flat bed and its on:smokin:

HOLY SAWZALL BATMAN! :eek::eek::eek:
Reminds me of a softspoken guy that owns the shop next to mine. He has a Zuke he his planning on putting 35's on with an 8" coil kit and a 3" BL. Don't know how many of you have seen a Zuk before, but they are small. I offered him one of my H1 tire+wheel combos to use for initial mockup and I didn't here anything out of him for awhile. Then I see him walking by with a sawzall.
I gave him a "There ya go!" and away he went.

you probably think that you "flopped" your rig, but what really happened is this: your Scout, having no way to tell you, tried to roll in order to scrape the fawking RPS sticker off. Even though it missed, your Scout is happy with the Sawzall results as the outcome was nearly the same:flipoff2:

Hey man, I thought that came from the factory stock :D :D :D
Looks like a good start. I'd get rid of those rockers and start re-tubin' the thing. See Rusty's build. Too bad you aren't in Colorado, I'd invite you over for a long weekend of work building the scuggy kit or next-to-nothing.

The tubing is sound still, its just the body thats been flogged. Im trying to do this on the cheap, and adding/re-doing tubing is outside of my budget right now.
I am going to inboard the rear legs of the cage and glue 'em to the frame,and trim away the tub aft of the wheel wells.

So that IS a scout! Me and my buddies were wondering. We saw you at K-rocks on memorial weekend. I was with the Zuki buggy and the BTF buggy. We were the guys watching you push that poor innocent rock all over the place!
Nice talking to you by the way. At least now i don't have to wonder any more!

The next time you see it it'll look a little more like a Scout, I didn't have time to hang the front fenders and grill. I think you may have been the only one to make it, the dam rocks were slick as shit from the rain and mud.

It would appear to me, if "Someone" came up with a back-half" kit, they could probably sell them. It seems that more and more Scout guys are going that way to remove thier RUST!! :D

Got the back 1/2 of the cage removed, gas tank pulled (poly 19 gal for sale btw), trimmed up the sides and removed sharp edges, worked on the body mounts for the middle of the bed (fucker sagged to the frame), started to trim down the rear bumper. It is 106* and Im calling it a day.

Fawk, stop posting pics :mad3: Or I'm going to have to "keep up with the Jones'".
HF has the bender on sale for $69.99 and I have a 20% off coupon :D
I may wait until I order a cage, then bolt my additions to it. I have a welder guy a block from my shop. I shall enlist his services :D

:laughing::laughing::laughing: COME AWN!!
I might start building the "bed rails" tomorrow. I still need some way of strengthening the bed behind the seats. Its really flimsy back there now that the sides are gone.
Id reckon that a chunk on 6" x 3" rect. tubing from my bumper, welded in there and running a bar from the cage (under the step) to the frame in gonna be my cheapest solution.

In that state of "disrepair", I can still drive my junk :D
Although I may get some odd looks from the local PD.
I need to order a cage soon :shaking:
I like IH Customs cage, but I need to link the cage and the engine tubing. It doesn't allow for that :(. I'd bend it myself, but I don't have the $1000+ to drop on a bender right now.

use the money you'd spend on buying a "cage" and buy a bender and some tube...get good and charge all your buddies to bend tube for them....think business:mr-t:
