In no particular order:flipoff2:

How say you?

Saturday: Spent all morning and much of the afternoon trying to get RockScout ready to wheel. I had been planning on going to a party Binderbound invited me too and last minute he convinced me to bring Rockscout. The damn thing fought me every step of the way. I got the bad water tube replaced but then the battery was dead. After attempting to get it to charge off my diesel it did start and ran, well enough to almost run me over. Then it died and refused to fire off again. I think the used and abused Red Top finally gave up the ghost. Spent the rest of the night with good friends at the party, drinking, shooting and BS'ing, just a good redneck holiday!:grinpimp:

Sunday: Took it easy until IHC-6's wedding. Nice low key ceremony at his house followed by some killer grub and good times. Home for a few hours, then out to a late movie with friends.

When I did my build I considered those but what do you do when you break one on the trail? I went chromo 19 spline so I could still run stocks if I had to.

Cut wood Sat morning then worked Per Diem at my old hospital.

Cut more wood Sun morning then got my front end welded up on the crawler. I've been on hold for over a month due to a vendor issues. I moved the frotn forward another 2" or so too. Trying to get motivated to do the rear in the afternoons, then figure out my steering. I got my hydroassist kit in however, looks good I just need to port my box. I'm going to mark it and post a pic for the pros to tell me if I'm going to F'it up or not :grinpimp:

Watched the shuttle launch friday. Finished up stripping the paint on saturday, painted sunday. Also got my battery cable ran (2/0 pos and 2g neg, thanks napa for selling me the wrong stuff :shaking:). Anyone thinking about using the valspar tractor paint, you'll only need a quart for a whole rig... I used less then 12 oz for a 1 whole coat.

Well for me I still have 2 cro mo 27 spline stubs under lifetime warrantee plus two Warn premo hubs for spares. Now if I break a 30 spline all I have to do is swap in the cro mo 27 spline and the Warn hub to match. Only down side is swaping them out on the trail, it would be better if I had another full set to slide in :D

Cleaned axles and parts, remounted some link mounts on the rear axle, cut out the old rockers and welded in beefy versions. Planned a BBQ for Friday.

Replaced the plugs wires on my Scout :shaking:
They are supposed to be exact fit wires. Anyone have a pic of an original spark plug wire routing? Oh, wait. This is Pirate :flipoff2:

There is 1 extra long wire that I assume goes to the #7 plug. As well as 2 180 degree wires at the cap. An ideas?

Played army all day friday and was supposed to weld up some brackets that night but decided going to the bar was a better option.

Saturday... more army and a wedding reception that night.

Sunday... yup, more army.

Got to watch myself on TV monday night. PBS finally aired the documentory about my unit's last deployment to Trashcanistan.

There's a write up on the BB about it, but you'll have to search!:flipoff2: You can skip the entire process next time and get a Semi custom set. The dizzy ends are made and you cut to length for the plug ends. That way you can route them anyway you want to. End up with a nice clean look.

I bought a set of Accel's 3 years ago and all the terminal ends have rusted. No wonder the engine developed a miss :shaking:

Drove the Wife's Scout about for a bit.

Cleaned the garage in anticipation for the Traveler quick build.

Then had to replace the alternator on the Aurora. It only took a few hours of SEVERE Mad Cursing to get it off and a new one on. :mad3: For your info they are 140 amp alternators.

Put about a hundred miles on the bike chasing parts. I got braided steel fuel lines, plug wires and an alternator bracket for $15. Pulled a cap and coil, but the cap turned out to be fucked. Found another and then realized that GM used two different versions of the big cap, one with 1/4 turn hold downs and one with small screws. I wasn't sure which one I had, so I didn't bother. Turns out I have the one with screws.

Saturday night went to my ex-gf's house. We were going to watch a movie on tv before heading out to a bar, but twhen I got there her son and bf wer still there. I played with her kid for a bit while she sat on the computer until 1 am.

Sunday I went to the lake and worked on my dad's pontoon.

Worked on my Scout II. Put the Pertronix Ignitor in the distributor and got rid of the points and condensor. Went to fire it up and no spark.:mad3: After about an hour of screwing with it I pulled the #1 spark plug and put in an old spark plug I had in my tool box just to see if I had spark. I did. All my brand new plugs were like that.:bawling: No spark on any of them. Lesson learned. Don't always assume that your spark plugs are good even if they are new.

Small flaw with your plan. What about if you if you break the 30 spline hub?

You'll have to swap the stub as well (30+min vs 5 min).

Sat: Loaded the Scout on the trailer --- in the rain....
http://ihsto.org/pirate/clean.JPG
Drove to an out-of-control, drunkin', 4x4, gun fest. With Binderbound and DieselSmoke. Unloaded Scout --- Wheeled maybe 500 yards +/- 10 minutes total --- loaded Scout.
Drank beer, shot guns, watched stuff get blown up, watched people ram stuff with there trucks, watched people total completley streetable trucks  Good times, good times.... :grinpimp:

Sun: Spent 2 hours cleaning the mud of my truck and trailer... Yikes -- I hate mud!
http://ihsto.org/pirate/dirty.JPG
Went to the previously mentioned wedding for IHC-6. Good times, good times...

Wheeled......
You Oregon guys missed out.
Deschutes county four wheelers put on their first annual rock crawl this past weekend in the Bend Oregon area. None of them had any experience at this sort of thing and I must say they did a excellent job, this was a blast! Great wheeling and met some good people too. The courses were nice and challenging and sent quite a few rigs home in pieces. Somehow I made it through unscathed and finished second in my class. Sounds like their going to keep this a annual event and I recommend next year for more people to make the trip as a competitor or spectator you will have fun.
I'll see you there. :D

Don't run Champions and go with Bosch Platinum's or better. Also a hot coil helps a lot with cold starts.
