I've tried searching and haven't really come up with a good answer. Search only works about half the time from here anyway.

What have those of you that have replaced the rear wheel wells used?
I know I can get 73-87 chevy stuff dirt cheap, but I can't find any good measurements on how big of tire will stuff in them. I can also get wheel tubs in some pretty big sizes for cheap. I know I could just make mine bigger, but as cheap as tubs are I figured I be better off just buying some, afterall time is money and fabbing stuff up takes a lot of time when you are as bad at it as I am.

I'll be completely replacing the bed area, and I only plan on putting 1 seat in the middle so size isn't really an issue.

www.summitracing.com has some for 36"-38" tires listed. Steel or Allum.

I saw those, but I was thinking the Chebby ones were a little bigger(and can be had for about 35 bucks a pair). I know my buddy has no problem stuffing 38's with plenty of room to spare. I'll have to track down a chevy and do some measuring.

If your buddy can stuff 38's with no problem does that not answer your own question? How big a tire you going to need to fit?

36's for now, but I eventually plan on making the jump to 39.5's or 42's when money permits. I was also curious what everyone else was using.

It does basically answer my own question, but I like to make annoying posts and give people a chance to flame. :flipoff2:

What about trailer fenders?

I just measured the fenders on my 92 c2500. I am going to be doing a similar setup. They measured about 35" end to end and 11" top to bottom. They have about a 20.5" or so radius average. I plan on using the same basic fender from a junkyard truck for my rears to clear 40's

The stock tire holes are only about 30" long, and the 36's I have will stuff up into them. I think I am going to go with the Chebby stuff, all the other wheel tubs are going to take up most of my bed area. If and when I go 42's and I need to I can just make them a little longer.

Fine, you got me. It was some guy I ran into at Walmart. :flipoff2:

After doing some more thinking I'm just going to build my own. All the aftermarket replacement ones are around 20-22 gauge and the "wheel tubs" sold by summit and the like are 24 gauge. With my luck I'd ram a stick through that.
