If you have a set of 4.56 gears from a military d60 then can you swap in a set of 5.13 gears without having to change anything? What about adding an ARB, carrier change? Are all dana 60 gears the same as far as application. (ie) chevy,dodge,ford? Thanks. Showing my ignorance here.

carrier split:
4.30 -7.17
3.54-4.1
So they should have the high gear carrier *I think* although some oems did (do) use "thick" ring gears.
arb's for dana 60's (35 spline) are rd35 and rd36.
"thick" ring gears on low carriers is also a solution.

edit: lots of ford frontends use reverse rotation gearsets.

You can put 5.13s on a 4.56 carrier on that front end.
