I was wondering if anyone has mounted a body on steel tube before? I recently purchased a fiberglass body and it was suggested that it could be mounted on a tube so as to have a multitude of mounting points. I think i may have ended up with a pre 75 tub for a 78 cj, as the floors are flat, but i was told it came off a 79, so im not sure. We blocked it up today and it looks like with a 2 inch body lift it should just clear the shock mounts and everything. any thoughts? thanks

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person who has no idea what exactly you are asking.....you're gonna have to give a lot more detail...

Yeah, after rereading that it was worded all wrong. I'm sorry. I am wondering about mounting a body on top of square steel tubing. Like, bolt it to the mounting points and then bolt the tub to the tubing. The tubing would go across the frame from one point to another. I hope thats more clear. thanks

What kind of vibration isolation are you going to have? YOu'll still need to put some rubber spacers in there to keep your teeth from rattling out of your skull.

You know if you hit fiberglass against a rock it just crack in pieces. But anyway TJV is right, If you going to do that setup than make sure you got rubber bushings, NOT poly bushings.
