Ok ive always been into 4x4 but i just started to get heavy into it buildin my own. I have 2000 s10 put a 350 in it mated to a t400 tranny that came from a 72 International. Im told that it came with a 205 transfer case but when i went to get it from the guy "it was missing"

1. can anyone tell me if this is true
2. can i adapt a ford np 205 or 208 to it and
3. does anyone have one cheap hopefully
im stationed at fort campbell and trying to get it goin so i can whell before we leave and im sorta on a tight budget now( got into the motor more then i wanted to really but i really wanted all those new parts and cam)

can you adapt a ford 205 or 208 to it?

yes.

you could also just about bolt up a GM np241 drivers side drop with no issues at all.

The ford 205 requires disassembly and drilling/tapping of the case with an input shaft change.

The Ford 208 gets a little more tricky, as you have to drill the adapter for the ford pattern, and then change the input shaft in the case too.

The np241 bolts on with the right adapter.

and while international did use the th400, they didnt marry it to an NP205 in 1972. that would have been a divorced unit.

the only transfer case i could see married to a th400 in a cornbinder or a jeep during those years would have been a dana 20. I guess I could be wrong....

no as long as you have the right input for the transfer case.
