Hello all,
I'm newbie to the Chevy list, & I haven't had a chance to pick up a manual on my engine yet.
Before I do, I have a question, but first, some info on my truck.

I recently aquired a 1963 IH Scout 80. Has Chevy SB V* (1972), Muncie 4-SP, SOA, PS, Work in Progress.
It's been sitting for the last 12 years.

Anyway, here is my question, there is a hole in the engine block (drivers side) between the front two spark plugs.
Is this a drain hole for radiator fluid?
If so, anyone know the size or part #?
Here's a pic:

Thanks Much...

It's a freeze out plug.

Thats where you stuff a plug or water temp sensor... strange that it is sitting there wide open like that.

:emb4: The Engine swapped in about 12-13 years ago.
A Cadillac Radiator was dropped in as well.
It hasn't been run since the radiator change out.

So, just so I understand, it is an engine block anti-freeze drain plug right?

Napa should have one?

Here's a pic of the engine & radiator:

It is the hole for a water temp sensor like lizard said... should be able to put a 3/4 pipe plug in there to plug it if you already have a temp sensor somewhere else..

Yea my bad, it looked bigger than I thought at first. It's a threaded hole isn't? Ifso that's where you put your temp sensor like the others said. But if you already have a gauge and sensor hooked up, just block it with a plug.
