Well I had to install my rear ebrakes which ment removing my axle blah blah blah.. when I took the cover off my rear end I noticed something wasn't quite right wiht my mini spool..
keep in mind this has been in the jeep for less then a year, I drive the Jeep about once a week and have had it on the trail maybe 10 time in mostly mud. and I'm running 37's
does this look like normal wear?

its still holding? Just has a little wiggle room. no diff than when guys weld a few spots on the spiders. I dont see it beging an issue unless the metal continues to deform. id just keep an eye on it.
Better yet, contact the manufacturer and see if theyll replace it.
SHNIPE are you trying to tell me this is normal for a mini spool.. I don't think so.. the metal is actualy breaking apart.

nothing new for a 8.8 mini spool. I definitely wouldn't keep running it, its already failing, its just a matter of time before it completely breaks.

The 8.8 mini spool is a piece of crap. Friend's held up for about 3 wheeling trips before it went boom. You are better off just welding up the stock spiders to be honest.

Not a good trend for Minspools in ford axles. At least the 9" minispool is one solid piece...but the axle housing flexing takes its toll on even that.
