: Minimum lift for 35 on a Tacoma

Title pretty much sums up my question(yes, I did a search)

Specifically, I will have a flat bed on the back so there isn't an issue there. The front is going to be SAS going coil over so I can adjust axle placement to avoid firewall conflict.

Is there a set of aftermarket fenders I can use to give me more clearance up front(ie at the center of the wheel well)?

The number I have seen thrown around is 6 inches of lift(usually with a BL:barf: :barf: ) I was hoping for a bit less.

do as much lift as you want, cut for the rest...

move the axle foward 1-2" and go to town with the air chisel if necessary. A couple of the prerunner/longtravel shops sell fiberglass

You have the 3.4 don't you? Go with 37s, 35s are too small :D Like the others have said, get it to the height you want it at and then start cutting from there ;)

Of course I got the 3.4.... I liked it a bit better than the 2.7 :p

I didn't see much cutting I could do to the front fenders. Plus, I want something to look clean... for now:eek:  :D Thus I'm considering fiberglass front fenders.

For now, I'm sticking with the idea of 35s on the Tacoma... the 37"+ tires go on the Cruiser:p

My experience that is soon to be over, with Tacomas is the main thing to do is GET AWAY from the back corner of the fender. That is the rub spot. If you SAS I recomend at least 4 inches forward axle, if not more.

As for with IFS lifting (which I dont recoment wasting time on of course) lemme just say this, I had some 31x12.50s with a 3 inch body and 1.5 inch suspension and they STILL rubbed like a biotch!

35's and 5in of lift should do it. with some cutting. But Throw the axle on and the rancho leaf springs you should be already there. 2in forward on the front seems to be the standard.

Good luck!

I have not done a SAS on a Tacoma but I recomend more than 2 inches. That is the Tacoma Territory standard and they consider doing donuts in a mud puddle for 15 minutes to be a long hard day of hardcore wheelin. Seriously:D

You can go more. I think yogi has it at 3in now he had it at 2 and it rubbed but 2in was the standard.

Most those guy wouldn't touch a muddle puddle with your truck:flipoff2: It's all a learning experience. The standard is 2in but you can do more.. I persnally would rather do 2in then cut the chit out of the fire wall to fit the bigger tires. The wheel base is long enough.

Mud puddles.. your funny! No respect no respeck at all!
