I got a guy I am helpin plan a swap, he has a line on a 64.5" waggy front end, and the price is right, but he needs a rear to match it. The front has (I BELIEVE) 4.10's, and he would like to match that with the rear.

I was thinking of a few possibilities:

Scout or waggy are a gimme, but how tough is a 44 rear? Guy tends to break ford parts, but even cornbinder stuff might buckle to his habits.

Chev 12 bolt outta something or other???

Ford 9" with wheel adaptors to 6 Lug or re-drilled shafts, but need a donor, no sure on F150, but F100 and EB are too narrow

Yota out of a Taco? oughta be a few of them runnin around the yards with 6 lug, 4.10's, and posi's by now?

Whaddaya think?

Anything out of a IH is going to be 5x5.5" 44/60-2 or 8 lug FF 60

64.5 seems a little wide for a waggy, but I don't know jack about jeeps.! :flipoff2:

If you can find one... A 9" out of a mid to late 70's Lincoln. Came with disc brakes and is around 63". They are 5 on 5.5 but you can get new axle shafts with the six lug pattern too. Spool it up and you can get 33 spline shafts. (Detroit with 31 splines).
That's what I'm putting in my runner right now. 44 up front, 64 1/2", 538's with ARB. 9" rear with 543's and spool... :D

Yep, it'd be 61 1/2" or so if it's outa a waggy. There were 64" axles under cherokees (and supposedly some waggys but I aint never seen one)

I truly don't know what its outta, it is a driver's drop, low pinion, spring under axle 44 with 64.5" wms-wms, and hubs that say, "JEEP" with six bolt discs. My buddy says its a waggy front end, but it could be cherokee for all I know, or it could be a scout front end with a fawkin set of heep hubs swapped on it...

What about the taco rear end idea? what's the track on those?

Will any of the cab / chassis rigs mentioned above be 6 lug by any chance???

M20 in the rear of the J-10 with that width front 44.

I say find a 9" that is close to that width and swap to 5 lug outers on the front. Easy.

the wide trac waggies were that length I think, my waggy 44 is like around 61" (narrow one)....

up until 79 J10's had D44's ... but they didn't have centered
diffs (offset like 6"). From 80-86 they had HD Model 20's that were centered. then what few 87's were produced had centered D44's in them.

I was thinking of doing it for Adam's truck.

a T100 rear end is supposedly 66" wms - wms, I may see if I can hook up one of those.
