A buddy of mine drove his rig around all last summer without doors. All you need is a drivers side mirror. He bolted his right to the fender.:flipoff2:

I believe that you need the driver's mirror & an inside rearview mirror. If your back window is tinted & or obstructed, you will then need the outside pass. mirror.

Not sure about Cali but in Oregon you must have a driverside mirror AND a 4" lip so crap won't fall out of the rig. Example is a Jeep the tub. No one has yet to enforce the the 4" lip law on me, yet?!

As for the Passenger side mirror, in Oregon you must have this only if the vehicle originally came with one from the factory.

Live Wire is right, my dad is Johnny Law and he told me that the left side and rearview mirror are the only things required!

I drove back from Johnson Valley, about 6 hours, with no doors. I had a mirror zip tied to the fender bolts, could only see my door jam with it, but it kept JL off my butt.:rasta:

No problems yet, I run all of the time with either the half doors or no doors... I should rig up some sort of a mirror though to avoid less easily fixed tickets, should I get stopped.

Here in Kali you must have 5" between the bottom door edge and floor. But luckily I don't think there is a single officer in this state that knows that. I've run without doors for the past 2 summers(and what I thought was going to include last winter :stupid rollovers:) and have only had stupid people ask "aren't you afraid you'll fall out?"

I have heard this before but never seen it in the code. Do you know the number?

I drove my truck all over without ever getting pulled over, not even once. Most of the time I had no doors. I welded mirrors to the external cage.

VC. All five of the officers said they could give you a ticket for “unsafe vehicle” but that they would not unless something fell out or you were not wearing a seat belt. That is good enough for me!! I run half doors any way with mirrors on both doors, five dollars SS Volvo mirrors from P-N-P:D :smokin: :D

The chp and sheriffs don't no jack. Why don't you ask them to clarify flp and flare laws while you are at it. ( does the flare and flap cover tread only or tread and side walls. BLAH-BLAH-BLAH. I always get different answers. I have a good friends and a lot of family in the force in Kern Co. and they can't tell you off the top of their head they would have to look or search the codes them selves. Look harder dont give up now:D I also don't remember if it was local or state. Oh by the way nice half doors I used to have a set I made for mine But traded them away for a brand new set of 33"-12.50" tsl's. I saw your truck 2 weekends ago I was camped out just before the sluice box on the right With the yellow black and gray exo'ed yota. Your sig is right you are old:D

Ok, so what's the BIIIiig deal anyways. It's not a felony or moving violation. The way I see it, worse case scenario is that you'll be given a fix-it ticket. Oh no! Not one of those!!

Just think, I got one for no mud flaps. 10 bucks later and 5 minutes after putting them on and getting the ticket checked off by CHP I took them off again.

Do you think it's a coincidence that I broke my Marlin Crawler that same day in a gas station parking lot? It was pretty cool though, turned a few heads!!!!!

FYI... In CA as of 3 months ago there is no such thing as a dismissable equipment violation ticket per the judge I was in front of 2 weeks ago. This means a $10 fixit ticket no longer exists. Every item carries a fine, it gets reduced by 30% if it is fixed and signed off... but its still a fine. Mine was for 4 items, and was $490 if not repaired, $362 if fixed & signed off. The judge DID say however they could use their discretion and lower the fine, which he did to $280, but you actually have to go before the judge and ask for it, otherwise the mail notice is the full pop fine. Welcome to Communist California, anything for a buck...

Yeah......Here in NY, if the cop writes you a fix it ticket, you dont have to pay the fine IF you get it signed off WITHIN 24hrs from getting the ticket......BUT you still have to pay the $30-35 court surcharge fee, no matter what..........
