Looked through the wiring harness I have, and got confused. Decided the way to make it non-confusing is to unwire all the stuff that runs on relays and rewire it sensibly.

I was going to take thursday off so I could have a 4 day weekend but I ended up spending 9 hours in a helicopter flying roundtrip to Kentucky so I could spend 10 minutes fixing another bird. :shaking:

Friday I had family in town so I didn't get a whole lot done... Same with saturday.

Sunday I bought a couple sheets of steel to start on my floor repairs. Ripped the rear D44 out and got everything ready to slide the 14 bolt in it's place. Pulled the dash all apart to make some more room for the floor repairs and get it ready for the flat dash.

I now have about Eleventy projects started on the Scout. I think I need to start concentrating on finishing one before I start another.

Tease :flipoff2:All I did today was shower, brush my teeth, and put my shorts on. Oh and I went swimming with the family.

Does that make me less of a tease? :flipoff2:

I rolled the scout out in preparation to clean the garage. Once I clean the garage and have room to work, I'll decide what to do with the aristocrat. All the pieces are in my garage/yard to start the build but I have a guy who wants to trade me for another 800, which is mildly built already or buy it outright, and another guy who wants to trade me for a stock 74 SII. I had plans to build it, but I dont want to start a flame fest like BRAAAP41 (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=584089) and I would't mind seeing it restored (which I have no plans to do on my own). We'll see.... I call the paint job scrapyard camo. :D

How does a knurler work? Why doesn't the pattern overlap on the material as it spins around?

It has two wheels with alternating pattern(I'm sure you knew that) but it has a lot to do with the feed rate. As it feeds, the little wheels just move along and leave the cross hatch pattern. If I just left it in one spot it would make a really deep pattern in that spot, but never overlap. I cant really explain it very well. Thats why I'm a junior machinist:D I do know that it took like forever to make those. I still have to radius them, face the other side, and center drill them. Then I can start making cranks.

Saturday: Test drove new truck with my best friend. He's looking to get into a Tacoma or Frontier 4 door next fall. I was quite surprised by the Nissan. Really nice truck, better options and equipment then the Toyota for cheaper. I wasn't surprised by the Dakota, seems Dodge is a few years behind. The Ranger dosen't come in 4 door and the Colorado my roomates uncle has had for less then a year has had too many electrical gremlins. Then it was Father's Day stuff.

Sunday: Cleaned parts for my impending engine rebuild and picked up my Sister, BIL and nephew at the Airport.

Exciting I know!:shaking:

Dropped axles off in Denver for more pass-side HP44s then came home and went to the XRRA race 5 miles from me house :grinpimp:

Now that UROC has swarn off rock crawlin' the XRRA series is getting BIG. I mean, this race had at least 3x the people last years even had (and last year was the season finals!).

Had fun, got some vid I'll post later.

Family shit, Hareware store shopping and a bit of bombing around in the 1510 :D

Not nearly as much done as I wished, but my wife FORCED (;)) me to go play 18-holes with my father-in-law Saturday morning rather than work on the patio... heck he paid and we got a cart.... and the weather held out very nicely.

Guess I can't complain too much :D

Saturday I worked on my Scout II. Had to replace all the plugs from them be fouled out. Got the Thing running but now I am having carb issues. I think I am going to replace the 2 for a 4 barrel. Did some measuring for the dana 60 front and 14 bolt rear. I think I will start the swap in about 2 weeks.

Sunday had a war with the squirt guns in the yard with my son and better half. After the war ended we went shopping then went to the movies to see Fantastic 4 Rise of the Silver Surfer (great movie). Then called it a day.

Got my new junk home. 73 Scout II, 345, 727, dana 20, 5 lug full-width 44's, and 37" brand new boggers. It is going to need the axles and steering upgraded, as well as a better designed cage. The truck drives but is seriously not something you want to drive over 45mph. 8 lug ff 14 bolt, 44 with disks and highsteer are first up on the list of things to do. This Scout is a lot further along than my 75 project, so the 75 tub is on its way to ihochad. Looking to sell the boggers and rims if anyone is interested.

True the 27 on the long side broke but the 30 spline stub and Toyota hub held and more so the spindle held :grinpimp: The rocks are sold, to wide for what I like to do.

I loaded up my wife, kid, and niece.. dug through my camping box that hasn't been used in 5 years, put the Scout on the trailer, and went wheelin' n' camping.

First time camping for my 8yo niece.. it was a treat. :D

"I'm cold, why is it cold in here?"

"Because, basically, we're sleeping outside, on the ground."

Her first time wheelin', too.

First time camping for my 11 month old, but not her first wheelin' trip. (Lessee.. 4th wheelin' trip? But only 3 races thus far..)

http://www.tmcom.com/~tsm1/gallery2/d/33266-1/IMG_9631.JPG

We did find snow, but I was at the back of the pack, and didn't stop to take pictures.

http://www.tmcom.com/~tsm1/gallery2/d/33368-1/IMG_9665.JPG

Got a new dent in the hardtop (and it's a Midas top, too! dang) on the off camber section when I leaned into a tree and throttled out.

My little girl did great - didn't fall into the fire, didn't complain much..

http://www.tmcom.com/~tsm1/gallery2/d/33251-1/IMG_9626.JPG

She did get cold n' woke up in the middle of the night, so she had to share a sleeping bag..

http://www.tmcom.com/~tsm1/gallery2/d/33458-1/IMG_9695.JPG

Doesn't mind wheelin' one bit, though. That's good - otherwise we were going to have to have a sit-down talk about her poor attitude.. but fortunately, that's not necessary. :D

Last week I finished installing the caster adjusters on my street Scout, and it now has 1.5 deg of caster on both sides. It's also aligned, but it also has a shot rag joint, so the box is coming out this week.

AC kit should be here Wednesday from AMA.. time to get that installed.

Need to order a VSS for the speed-o head so I can hook up the electronic cruise control and maybe I'll finally install the remote starter / keyless entry while I'm in there. Needs the front main replaced while I'm at it, too.

I know it is almost next weekend but...

Drove to Cali. for a long weekend Birthday/Graduation/Father's Day.

Didn't even open my dads garage door and look at the Scout parked inside... Geez I suck.

Now I get home and my own garage door is broken so my Scout is trapped inside. Yep geez I suck.

Went on the Hi-Landers Poker run on the Rubicon.

No carnage for me, a Jeep Scrambler in our group discovered a blown hub (missing actually) when he went to unlock them at the end of the run just after Wentworth campground.

Won a set of new camping chairs at the raffle... (was hoping for tires...:D)

On Sunday, I cruised up to Tahoe City area to meet the wife & kids for a much needed vacation.
Tuesday made an inpromtu attempt to hit the springs from the Tahoe side.
Made it to just before Cadilac Hill when I noticed I lost a motor mount bolt (didn't ave a spare, but the ratchet strap worked fine), so we turned around & headed back.
