I have a toy hp in the front and its sweet, Doesnt get near anything but my front angle and clearance are awesome.

The problem you run into is the Diff is on the wrong side. The HP 44's came out of Ford Bronco and F150 trucks (late 70's as I recall), with the diff on the drivers side. To move it over you have to retube the housing.

However, they make GREAT rear axles! That's what I'm running. :) Besides, you tend to have more problems with drive shaft clearance on the rear than the front.

Just cut the knuckles and turn the pinion up on the front. You can use any long housing for that (mine is made out of a Chevy front).
