Running the york style compressor in factory location. I turn on the switch, the clutch engages, then disengages. I have checked the line to make sure it isn't kinked and engaged the pressure switch manually. The pressure switch made the pop-off valve blow almost instantly. I have never had a problem with this so I don't know where to start. Switch clutch compressor:confused:

It would help if you showed a diagram or picture of your system.
There are lots of ways to put them together.

basically it goes from the compressor out to a distribution block. Starts with the pressure switch then the pop-off valve, next is a quick coupler to feed my air tank. At the end is another coupler and a pressure gauge.

How long has it been installed? Did it work fine before and just started acting up, or is this the first time you tried to get it working?

Have you tried it with no load, with an open valve? Is the airtank hooked up, so the compressor has something to fill? When you say the pressure switch made the popoff valve blow almost instantly, what pressure is your pop off v/s pressure switch? The pop-off should be ~ 20psi more than the pressure switch is set for.

Sounds like a bad pressure switch,or it's not adjusted properly.

Sorry about no pics, my truck is 350 miles away at its summer wheeling home.
This is not a new system, it's been on the truck for 3 years. The pressure switch is 120 psi and the pop-off is 150. The tank is hooked up but I did not try running it open. I would assume everything is adjusted right because it's been fine for a while.
