I installed the TFI upgrade last night ( I do think I notice a difference, nothing like "my engine runs like new") and now need to adjust my timing. 258 I6 idling a little rough nothing to major just not quite right. Anyway, I tossed my timing light out years ago. (dosen't it figure, I haven't used it for like 20 years so I toss it and now I have a jeep that requires one)

I remember adjusting the timing by hand and listening to how the engine responds. What I don't remember is which way advances and which way retards. CW-advance and CCW-retards is that correct. How much adjustment is required to advance a few degrees. Not much I would suspect.

Any advice whoud be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You'll know which way is the right way as soon as you start turning the dizzy. But your correct.
It wont take much to adjust it a few degrees. start with a slight 'nudge' and see how it sounds.
