ok ive found some information in random places but i figured pull it all together and ask some questions.

putting together a full width king pin 60.....

1. whats the best way to get the caster close before i weld brackets to it (tj)

2. without having the stock tie rod whats the best way to figure up how long the tie rod should be

3. going hi steer..... leave the tie rod at the stock location (drill out for heims) and get 1 hi steer arm for the draglink (also going ram assist so i need to mount that). OOORRRR do i just get a 2nd arm and move it all up there.

4. saw pics and info of tie rods behind the axle (comments made about akerman angle?!?!?!) with a TJ set of axle brackets and a long arm is it a doable idea to run the tie rod behind? if so who makes GOOD arms for this.

5. dumb brake question.... is everyone using the rotors and calipers that should go with the 60's (gonna run a 15" rim) or is 1/2 ton rotors and such a better idea.

6. anything i missed? ive built some axles before, ive not done a kingkin 60 before with hi steer i figure id ask instead of f'n up. yes i did some searching too, im jones'n to get started and im trying to keep downtime to a minimum since were already into june.

thank ya:beer:

1. Angle finder worked for me.
2. Tape measure
3. Move it all up or you will regret it.
4. You probably read my message - I tried to do it but could not make it work easily. Too much crap in the way.
5. I used the stock 60 brakes and ground them until the 15's fit.
6. Shave the diff, and add a ram assist.

short wheel base would really shine with correct ackerman.
real busy behind the dif though in most applications
