I wish I could afford one of those fatty hydraulic tube benders like the tube shark or something but im on a budget <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> soooooo. I was looking for reasonable tube benders and I found this one for 84 bucks! Is it worth a shit or should I even bother? Its rated at 12 ton hydraulic and can bend up to 2" round, comes with everything... I just want it for a few additions on my cages, etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

that is a pipe bender, if yo make some brakets for it to hold the pressre better than the ones givn with it it works great, i know a gy who ses it for everything he makes, bt he made the bedning portion of it. (not hard to do) jiMMy

that is a pipe bender, it will bend some tube that fits the dies but it will leave dents where it contacts the rollers. i have one and have used it to bend 1 1/4 in pipe and 1 5/8 tubing it does a ok job but nothing like a real tubing bender. i have built bumpers and cages with it. but i am geting rid of it and buying a jd squared. you will be money ahead to do it right the first time. and you can charge your buddies when they come over to borrow it. and recoup your money before you know it. i wish i had just bought the real thing to begin with. so theres my 2 cents. later mike

this is the link to JD Squared (http://www.jd2.com/) I didn't see the JD2 bender on their site. looks like the JD3 starts at around $275 and then you need to buy the dies on top of that (from $105 to $260), so you can still get set up with a good bender for just over $500. not bad if you're doing a lot of bending. otherwise, most local fab shops will do the bends for you for a minimal fee.

Are you sure it comes with one free die?
I was looking at their website and didn't see anything like that.

This could make or break the deal for me and my brother.

Thanks alot.

No free dies, at least there wasn't when I got mine from them. I believe that if you buy 3 or more, you get 10% off.
