So I finally got into tearing apart my rear D70.. and on one side, the lugnuts are reverse threaded!

So, I have a few questions about this:

a) WTF?
b) WTF!!?
c) Why?
d) anyone seen this before?
e) WTF??!?!

I sure spent a lot of time tightening those bastards before I figured it out! hehe

that would be typical ford bullshit. a lot had them.

they did it to
1 screw you
2 screw smoe wheel kid into breaking them all therefor needing to order more from ford
3 make thing as hard as possible, they LOVE DOING THAT.
4 so when you are standing on the side of the road trying to get it off you, you strip one lug nut off and cant get it to loosend or tighten or get the wheel off at all. then you have to call a tow truck, and hav eit towed to a ford dealer ship soo you can pay them to fix there shitty idea.

This wasn't originally Ford's idea... its on some Heavy Duty trucks and most all vehicals Pre-70s...
My Fathers 69 Road Runner had Left/Right hand lug nuts.

I believe it was only the early 1980 F-250's that had them... but yeah, pretty common, mopar did that shit for ever, and GM's did alot in the 60's, along with many, many big rigs..

It's the same reason the drivers side spindle nut it luft hand thread on a sterling.... to keep shit from backing off due to tire rotation.

All duece and half's are this way.

Also, my parents had a '85 F-250 Van that was this way. I had a blow out on it one day and just before I was gonna call a tow truck, I tried it left handed and it was no biggy:p
THis was a Sterling 10.25

My D70 out of the 77 2wd was left and right. My friends 84 F-250 with a semi float D60 was that way too. DUMB idea.:flipoff2:
