I think everyone should own a Garand. I took a liking to them after going through the DCM program.
Edit: I didn`t mean go looking for a pristine example, I didn`t. I just grabbed a beater through the DCM. I have never been interested in collector guns, they aren`t practical (to me) I want something to throw lead with. I forgot about the K98`s, been meaning to pick on of those up too.

X2 on the Garand. It is such a sexy rifle... :D

Ok.. My next choice ould be an Einfeld.

I have both, so let me know if you want to shoot either of them and we can head over to Carters and send some rounds downrange before you buy one.

A garand would be nice, but aren't they getting pricey for a nice shape original era gun?

Someone is producing replica Garand's, I think pretty true to the original era pieces. I one at the local Gander Mtn, $1800.00 they wanted for it.

Garand, however the DCM is currently out of them. Their bbs had a message that there is a shipment due in later this fall. The do have Receivers for 125.
They also sold out the first batch of M1 Carbines and looks like a couple months before the next batch is ready to go, I want a Rockola.
But this is all predicated on you being eligable.
Fulton Armory manufacturers Garands, M14s, and I think carbines, but they have a hefty tag on them. Well made and all that, but pricey.
Consider a Mosin, Enfield, or a German K98.

A very large percentage of USGI M1s were rearsenalled post war. A truelly original WWII rifle is verrrry pricey.
Seems to be a good business of people buying rifles one piece at a time, all from a single manufacturer, and building a rifle and passing it off as 100%.

Garand, find one built by International Harvester that does not have the barrell shot out of it........... Probably the most accurate Gerands ever built.

a few thousand rounds of 7.62x54r for the ammo cans bitches. i bought all the silver tip there, about 1200 rounds for 200 bucks total. no more 440/44 deals. 880 for 110 bucks! suck!

if there is a good deal, some 7.62x39 saw 1000/ 188 out the door

if its boxed and seems better than the last shit i shot from the gunshow .357 and 38 spl. teh walmart pwns the gunshow

mosin nagant sniper shopping there was ONE. it was a fuggin fake they wanted 500 bucks for..... CAI modified shit m94/30 gun

new toy new toy!!! :bounce: :bounce:

bought this little guy for 120 total. he came w/ bayonet cleaning kit and sling. took about 2 hours to clean fully. i came, saw, and fawked with that green shit in the barrel. it was yuck, but done.

knocked out the front sight, and chucked in the drill press. what a CUNT i say CUNT to get it from not flopping out of round. its tapered so i didnt wanna squish the shit out of it, but too loose to keep it from moving around. anyways its ready to be sighted in with his younger brother M44 :)

this one was made in 1939 ( i think) my M44 is made in 1947 ( i think)

07-07-2007, 02:50 PM
oh, and there was ONE ROMAK3 there for 850

im not paying an additional 150 PLUS tax for something i can build in prolly 2 hours. just couldnt justify paying that amount for it.

also i saw and came within inches of buying a Stag arms left handed carbine (875.00) :)

saw M1 garands go from 750 to 3500 bucks. i didnt know why the spread was so big, so i stayed away from them, since im not informed enough to not get ripped off.

saw a few arisaka's and other cool shit that i want. i like WWII guns

Me and some friends drove down from CS. At the last show we went on sunday and it was alot less crowded. I couldnt even sqeezemy skinny ass in at some tables because there were too many fat bastards blocking the way. I took my grilfriend, she has a theory that gun owners are physically larger than the general population cause everyone at the shows is huge.

I only ended up buying a an AR recoil spring buffer tube. I was eyeballin some 7.62x39 ammo but since I'm a member of sportsmansguide the prices weren't even close. One of my friends bought one of thos giant blowguns that has like a 1/2" bore and comes with 4 types of darts; round plastic tipped ones (presumably for shooting people), ~8" long wood ones, ~3/16" wide wire broadheads and plastic darts with FREAKIN 1/2 INCH WIDE METAL BROADHEADS. This is gonna be one squirrel terrorizing sumbitch.
