I just bought a cast aluminum auto tranny pan for my tow rig. The stock pan has a magnet fastened to the bottom of the pan. I need to put one in the new pan. Has anyone done this and if so, what did you use to hold the magnet in place?

Epoxy will hold it. FWIW Epoxies that have a mixture rate of 3:1 or 5:1 is much stronger than epoxy that has a mixture rate of 1:1. The 5 minute stuff is the weakest of the bunch.

Scrape up the area where your going to put it to give some surface to bite into. Clean it with brake cleaner. JB Weld.
