We lucked out with great weather this weekend.
A little warm but much better than the weather just a short distance
north of us. South East Iowa had 7 1/2 inches of rain, flood warnings and
tornadoes.
Very sorry to hear about the Tornado damage to a Kevin McGlothlin construction site. Wish him and Nicole the best in overcoming it and hope to see them at event #3.

Event Results:

Awesome Modified Stock Competition. 4 pts serparated 4 teams down to
the very finish. And then a tie breaker for 3rd place for Travis Snider and Kyle Brusso. (Travis Snider and Erin Lachman again! pulled off a 3rd place win)
Derek West and Ritchie (Reginald) Keller tried to make things interesting by letting other teams take the lead throughout the event but with 2 bonus lines and a -24 score on the last course, the infamous team once again pulled off a first place finish.

Derek West/Ritchie Keller -4 -1 -4 -14 -24 = -47 1st Place
Jake Good/ Scott Angell -4 -12 7 -13 -23 = -45 2nd Place
Travis Snider/ Erin Lachman -4 -3 -4 -4 -3 = -18 3rd Place Tiebreaker
Kyle Bruso/ Kyle Holland -2 -2 -14 -1 1 = -18
Jim Barlow/ Craig Sommers -4 -2 35 -1 -2 = 26
Thomas Grady/ Alan Grady 12 9 -2 -3 39 = 55
Louie Keener/ Heath Catron -3 39 35 -1 11 = 81
Eli Aubuchoon/ Paul Horschman -3 38 17 -1 39 = 90
Dave Koenig/ Alex McColum -4 35 17 40 39 = 131
Lisa Catt/ Jim Catt 12 23 38 40 39 = 152

Super Modified event was very tough. With the brand new courses and the loose rocks and steep climbs it made some of the obstacles undoable.
Julie Verheecke did make one climb look easy that no other competitor completed. Congrats to Julie and brother Chris Endres on the win.

Julie Verheecke/ Chris Endres 17 5 7 37 39 = 105 1st place
Ken Blume/ Branden Blume 7 36 10 39 39 = 131 2nd place
Jesse Haines/ Brian Howard 9 36 17 38 39 = 139 3rd place
Jake Gochenour/ Chuck Hack 17 36 22 39 39 = 153
Jeremy Whited/ Logan Anderson 38 36 39 39 39 = 191

I've got to run and I'll post Day 2 results of the Legends and Pro Mod events when I get back in a couple of hours.

What a great event. One of these days Travis and I will beat that damn GEO. Thanks for spelling my name right this time Debbie. Just have to get Tom riled up a little bit. Can't wait to see the pics from the event. It was great seeing everyone again.

Congrats to Mike Knorr too. Great victory for a rookie.

I'm back:)
BTW, I've never seen so many kids standing in line for autographs of the
competitors as I did on Saturday! Very cool! The event brochures were very well utilized!

After watching the Super Mod rigs beat and beat at the loose climb
cliffs, Tom immediately got in the trackhoe Saturday night and started
tearing down some more rock for the Pro Mod courses on Sunday.

Some breakage in early courses left 2 teams with only 3 wheels to try out
the newly revised ledge courses. A show was put on by Cory Buerman as he backed up (in a very agressive manner) a long steep climb on A4 far enough to allow him to get a progression gate. First place team in the 1st event Jake Sandin and Job Johnson, also with 3 wheels, succeded to get credit for one progression gate on A5.
Ken Blume took the seat for one course while son Branden spotted in what looked like to be a prerun for an XRRA rockrace. He blasted up the A4 climb and blasted over a huge boulder for a bonus 15 foot drop with a high speed run out to finish the course with an amazing -16 that had everyone in a roar.
And for those of you that saw the video of 13 yr old Branden Blume's amazing save from RROCK Event #1, you'd be just as amazed today. Brandon conquered a very long steep loose climb on A4...went off an 8 ft "rear end push drop" rolled, landed on all 4 wheels with the back end 20 feet from the finish gates and with little time left had the know to back through the gates to finish the course.
But the Pro Mod winner today was the team with consistency. Mike Knorr in a Twisted Customs buggy pulled off the win today with a final score of only 14 pts.

Mike Knorr/ Austin Dando 23 7 -5 -6 -5 = 14 pts 1st Place
Branden Blume/ Ken Blume 40 8 -6 -16 21 = 47 pts 2nd Place
Cory Buerman/ Randy Duvall 18 6 37 39 40 = 140 pts 3rd Place
Jake Sandin/ Job Johnson 38 40 40 40 39 = 197 pts

Stiff competition between Legends class Series 1st place Steve Thornton and series 2nd place holder Alan Fuller was at its best today with the teams trading lead position until the decision was made on the last course of today's event and also series leader.

Steve Thornton/ Mike Jones 0 -12 8 -14 8 = -10pts 1st Place
Alan Fuller/ Kyle Bruso 0 -11 6 -14 14 = -5pts 2nd Place
Bryon Cooper/ Ben Melnick 37 11 7 -14 8 = 49 pts 3rd Place
Thomas Grady/ Alan Grady -1 11 10 -3 39 = 56 pts
Kyle McDaniel/ Chris Endres 22 19 7 8 38 = 94pts
Paul Figge/ Mark Brandt 23 39 8 29 17 = 116
Logan Anderson/ Kyle Holland 40 21 40 40 40 = 181 (Brutal Roll attempting the up hill bonus climb on B2 did the team in for the rest of the event)

New courses, new experience and definately some new knowledge for us after this event.
Thanks to our sponsors: Cooper Tire, Neal Tire Pittsfield, IL, MRW, Allied, Pepsi Refreshment services Qcy and 4x4 Directory.com.
Once again the RROCK crew and Marshall Chris Rayborn did an amazing job even after having to make a sudden change in event flow on Saturday because of staffing (everyone wants to get a chance to check out the XRRA action next weekend)
Ma Rayborn spent 5 days in the kitchen before the event baking cookies which she spent all weekend giving away to competitors, staff, judges and park guests!
Series resumes August 25th & 26th at Hannibal Rocks.

Yeah I can't say enough about the whole event. Tom and Deb you guys must do a great job taking care of your volunteers because they are awesome. Really and truly great people. Thanks to the judges and chris. It is really fun to be able to joke around with everyone there. I am really really stoked about how close the competition was for us in the stock mod. It was a blast watching the lead change after each course. Awesome driving by all and some really cool courses set by Tom and Debbie! Definately congratulations to Derek he earned this one. Although I am not sure he ever really worries.

Thanks again guys! Looking forward to seeing you in August!

Tom and Debbie, thanks again for another great event. You guys really know how to make the teams and spectators feel like it's their home too.

Here's a low-res clip I took of Brandon Blume's incredible flop and go:

This kid is amazing... but then again, look who's coaching him!

Here's a low-res highlight reel of our guy Mike Knorr.

We're proud of Mike and the last two RROCK events he and Austin have been in.

Here's my photo gallery from this past weekend. It's pretty biased towards our team, though...

What a great week end. I want to thank the Tom and Deb and their great support crew. You guys really put on an awesome event. The people involved with RRock are all top notch.

I also want to thank me newest sponsor the rig looked awesome on the rocks thanks to Burnesville Off Road's killer new paint job. Got tons of positive comments on that.

Thanks to all the people that came out to compete. All the competitors did an awesome job and put on a great show. Watching the comps on Saturday is always a great prelude to driving on Sunday.

Thanks. Taking the win was fun. Finishing all the courses was even better.

It would have been more fun if you wouldn't buy those defective parts. :shaking:

Of course if the spotter wouldn't have gotten the rig so bound up there. :stirthepot:

Hope to see you back in August.

I've been trying to get hold of Galahad and Bumblebee to see if they remember too but they are at camp.

So you ever see Rebel and Manda?

I had a good time trial building/running down there. Miss that!

Great weekend at Hannibal Rocks! The RROCK courses continue to get harder, and the teams continue to get better. All of the teams put in a great deal of time and money into this sport for the spectators and fans. The sad part of the whole weekend was not seeing any media crews there. I like seeing my favorite teams pics and reading about the events. Where were Low-Range, Crawl, Four Wheeler, Peterson's??? Oh, and JP (yea, right - like JP's going to cover a great event like RROCK)???? :stirthepot:

I actually thought I saw a guy from Crawl there but never asked Deb or Tom, looked like the same guy that was just at Jellico. Aaron is coming to the last event. Some of the hobby guys should free lance an article, it's not that hard and someone would pic it up, make a little cash, get some tax write-offs.....:)
