I did a search, and really didnt come up with anything. So I thought I would ask here. I was wondering, if anyone on here has built there own GooseNeck trailor? If so, how did you build it? Our do you have any plans for one? I am going to be building my own. It is going to be 20ft long, and I hope able to hall both are Jeeps. Thanks

Try Princess Auto (http://www.princessauto.com) .

They sell lots of trailer plans. They have two gooseneck models and the prices are in Canadian $$

FWIW - I bought the standard car trailer plans a while back. The plans were awesome. Detailed material list, proper blue prints, wiring diagrams, even a blurb about how to weld.

I'll try a picture. It's a bad screen grab from the online catalog.

I have to agree with FABRICATOR on this one. In part it will depend on the individual length of each rig you intend on hauling. One good factor to keep in mind is the potential length of future rigs you may have. It is nothing to be longer, but when you fall short it sucks!! Make sure that the gooseneck it going to serve you the best for your application. For my towable I am going with a Hook & Pintle set-up but for my hauler I will be going with the gooseneck too.

Best of Luck! and don't forget the pics n sheit!! :beer:

A buddy of mine is building one as we speak. Already has $10000 invested and its not done yet. At first we had estimated $6000 but we started doing alot of custom built in features. 40 ft long with 10 ft high ceilings. Its going to be cool when finished. (And probably a bitch to tow as is is built like a tank.) Can you say 2" box tubing on 2ft centers with plywood and fiberglass siding on a 40 ft 5th wheel!

10" each Jeep is not going to cut it.
Use this a as a guage. My bed is 10" and the extentions out the back are another 16". My wheelbase is 90"

I've been considering a gooseneck trailer, we build the frame and then take it to a custom trailer builder for the inclosure. Think'n 40' fully equiped to run and carry everything CalROCS might need.

Need plans or kit !!!!!!

I used to pull one that had a 28ft deck and 2 early broncos fit on it perfect.

More important than finding the plans, how much $$$ in materials to build a two-rig gooseneck?

I'm just wondering if buying one isn't such a bad idea.

I'd like something in the 32' range.

Give me enough room to put two Scout IIs up on the deck, and make sure they're not sitting on the dovetail.. so I can pull the front tires of a third rig up onto the dovetail, chain it down, and drag THREE piles of junk behind me.

A friend hauls two this way with a 20' tag-along.. another friend has used a 25' gooseneck to haul two rigs and flat-towed a third behind.. but I think getting the front tires up off the ground and onto the "dolly"/trailer should work better - and it's legal in more places.

I have an old travel railer the goose neck type not the 5th wheel type. I got it for free. I am going to pull the cabin part off and use the trailer to haul a trackor. Try going to a travel trailer dealer maybe you can pick up an old one pretty cheap.

i friend of mine picked up a brand new 20+5 dove tail last year for 3500+ tax. hell we couldn't buid it for near that, and he runs a fab shop. it had a nice paint job. chain box with locks, 5 new 10 ply tires and new rims, a 5/4 bullnose treated deck, electric brakes on both axles and all bulldog brand hard ware[ie jacks and coupler]. i am fixing to build a 25" bumper pull 10k trailer for dual rig hauling. the only reason i am building it is because i got the steel for free and i can get a deal on the axles. mike

Hey, thanks for all the reply's! The one site http://www.southwestwheel.com/trail...railerplans.htm has the perfect plans for building a 25 footer! That is the length I am going to go with. The Jeeps that will be on it are CJ-5's, So I think both should go on a 25 footer! Thanks again for the help!

For those having problems:
' = foot
" = inch

It will take all of $3500 to build one but I have been looking for a while and have only found one for that price that didn't need allot of work. To me it is more about building exactly what you want than to do with saving money.

Just for length referance, this is a 38' float with dual 12,000 axles under it. It will fit 2 Extended cab longbox trucks on it with little overhang. Bigger is ALWAYS better, at least with trailers.

Looking at all the links for plans.... Did anyone have a source for any plans for a 30 foot gooseneck?

for those that bought the plans for the 25' gooseneck, what was the material used for the 2 main frame rails?
