I have a wagoneer 44, i just wanted to know what people used to get the draglink into the tierod...Right now i am using a big frikken hammer and can't get it in. I tried an air impact wrench on the nut of the draglink bolt to maybe tighten it up so that it would pull the draglink end all the way through the hole. I was just wondering if there is any easier way to get them back on.
I thought that since they made tierod forks to make it easier to take the tierod and draglink off, that there would be something that would make it easier to put them back on.
hopefully this isn't a completey retarded question.
I use the right sized rod end ;)

It should be pretty obvious what's keeping it from going in. Did you booger the threads up when you used the pickle fork to pound them out?

I thought i could get some help from the heep guys j/k.....the threads go through, but after the threads the bolt gets wider...so that it would be a snug fit. The threads aren't boogered or stripped or anything of the sort. I have all the nuts on the ends, but there is like 1/4 in play from the hole in the knuckle to the end, i want a flush fit. Thats why i was using a hammer...to get it all the way flat with the knuckle. I know i am not crazy, but since i needed to get a pickle fork to get the tierod off...don't you think it would be hard to put back in!!!! All i want to know is if there is any easier way to get it back in ALL THE WAY. I have everything 98% of the way through its just the big end of the bolt that needs to make it through.

I hope I understand what you are talking about but when I put the lift on my jeep I used a pitman arm puller to push the rod on it got the job done.:)
