I'm just about ready to pull the trigger and spend the cash on the milwaukee multicutter/ dry cut chop saw. From what i've read it's the next best thing to a big $$ cold saw or band saw, i've had a chop saw and want something better. The max budget is $500 for something to make straight and angled cuts in tube, flat stock, and angle iron. If you bought one was it worth the $$?

I bought a Dewalt multi-cutter with carbide tipped blade to replace my abrasive chop saw and don't have any regrets. This was when Harbor Freight was having there special on refurbished units and the price was around half off. It is just as loud as the abrasive ones and produces these tiny metal chips that can be hard on the knees when kneeling down, would like to someday make a custom place for it on the work bench. Somebody said on here not to use it to make fishmouth cuts for tubing like you would with an abrasive blade but I just made some and didn't have any problems with the blade catching and possible kick-back. If you had to pay full price for one it would still be a good deal. There is more than enough info on the multi-cutters here in the tools forum if you search around.
