A little more specifically, Fordyce is closed due to fire restrictions. See: http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/tahoe/news/07_news_releases/07_jun_29_addl_fire_rest.shtml for the Forest Service info OR http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=593785 for what has been said on this forum.

Just got this:

In today's Bee (7.7.07) there is an article on the potential closure of eight OHV areas due to the legislation that authorizes them expiring this year. The closures would include Prairie City and Oceana Dunes in Pismo. Apparently the trail riders groups and the enviro-fascists are negotiating with the legislature on "changes", which at this point include doubling entrance fees and roughly tripling OHV sticker registration fees.
