I have a 1994 Toyota 4x4 P/U with 22 RE engine. I bought this truck in early 1995 with 25k miles on it. I,ve kept the truck in great shape and have religously changed the oil @3500 miles. other then replacing the water pump and thermostat everything is original.
My question is what scheduled maintenance would you have done to your truck at 170k?
I,ve asked several shops if I should replace the timeing chain. they all give me the same "if it ain't broke don,t fix it". I don,t want to have to fix something while I,m 20 miles from no-where.

thats one of those things, like a old coil it can go at anytime or last forever, when i had my engine on the stand i put a gear drive timming chain in it and the chain that was in it was the most sloppiest chain i ever seen in my life so it was gonna go soon and i had no idea.

you can probably grease every u joint and ti-rod end you have and check or replace your gear oil in the axles
