just got finished reading this article on 4x4wire and if i read it right the hub body doesnt need to be removed from the rotor to replace the studs. just checking cause the guy at the local alignment shop said i had to pull them apart.
http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/maintenance/front_end/rotor/
and for the rear i just need to pull the axle and pound em out right?i only have one wheel with all 6 right now, 2 with 4 and 1 with 5. been like that for a while, figure i should get it taken care of while im out of school for a week.

Correct, just pound them off.

This is true for the solid axle wheel hubs only. The IFS hubs don't use the studs to hold the rotor on, so you have to pull the rotor off to replace a stud.

My friend that owns a machine shop has a 4 ton hydrolic press with a motor, and it makes it sooooo easy to press studs in and out......:D

na....I bet I can do it faster with a hammer and an old lug, some things are just easier without a big tool.:flipoff2:

Agree, a brass hammer and a 2lb BFH will have them out real quick. And shoot, if you are replacing them anyways, screw the brass hammer. Who cares if they get boogered.

I hear what you guys are saying, but it's like saying " I don't need air tools, I can do it just as fast with a box end wrench".
