I cannot fawking wait 'til Sunday when it will be delivered.

7,000 pound, four post, with two jacking beams, a tranny jack and one jack stand.

I am so stoked! The new shop is coming together so well, now if
I could only get this junk, er valuable parts put away so I can use all the bays.

why did you get a 4 post? does it have those jacks half way down the ramp for lifting the car off its tires? Is that what the jacking beams are?

Lifts are awesome, ever since i got mine i don't even want to get on the ground to change a tire!

I wish I had a garage with a high enough ceiling to accomodate a car lift. I went to a car dealership auction (they were moving) a while back and had the chance to buy...that's right buy (20 lifts and no one bidding on them or wanting to dissassemble them)... a year old 9000lb Rotary 2-post lift for $1000.

One day...one day....

I work on an awful lot of air suspended vehicles and didn't want to fawk it up. Also, I think they are safer and can be used on less substantial/perfect concrete than two-post lifts. My floor has some imperfections and I can shim a four-post to compensate for the floor.

I think he is trying to say that with a 4 post you can use concrete that isn't as strong as the 4 posts spread the load out better.

And that air suspended vehicles must be lifted by the wheels to avoid damaging the air bags when the axles hang from the frame.

My concrete is more than 5" thick, but it has a coupla cracks that worried me at first until I spoke with the guys from the lift company and they told me it is common to shim the pedestals to compensate for cracked concrete or otherwise uneven floors.
