OK, the rims and tires and that chrome Bezel (where do people get those fucking things) are ugly, but the paint isnt that bad. It is not any worse that the Zebranator that was around a couple of years ago with the white and black.

Maybe I just have a soft spot for tiger stuff, since they are my favorite big cat.

Gee, I guess I wont post pics of my leopard spotted fj60 for you guys to critique:flipoff2:

That is the PERFECT paint scheme for James Henry. It would match his hideous tiger striped dash cover. Ack.

Are the rims really that bad?! I kinda like 'em...........enough that I have some on my truck. At least they're cheap and more importantly.....THEY'RE STEEL!!!

OK, I take back the part about the rims, they look good with tires that actually have knobbies.:flipoff2:

Just my luck, I insult someone from a place I am thinking of moving to. So how is the wheeling in SLC?

The chrome bezel was available from Toyota dealers as a replacement part.

Adamto,
Where does the front part of your cage (front hoop) go? From the pic it looks like it just stops, or disappears into the dash. Info please.:D

the paint job looks okay, sorta like my rear guard cut though (angle grinder job)

could've used more alloy

the adamto, crusier had pictures of his setup on here a while ago, it actually bolts to the dash, im pretty sure he was SU, with u-bolt flips, and Nacho shocks :D
it looks sweet as!!

Thanks BJ on roids. That would make sense to why his cage looks like that.
By the way, what time is in the land down under? I forgot by how many hours you guys are different than us. Man I can't wait to get back to Austrailia someday. Loved that place.

http://user.netomia.com/Box%20Rocket/rim08.jpg Funny thing is, I got a set of those old A/R black nuggets on my TJ which were also sold as a black modular steel wheels by just about everybody in the biz as black mods. Every once in a while a get some joker emailing me asking where they can get a chrome bezel like those on my rig. I have to laugh...:p :flipoff2:

There are/were (discountinued) great cheap steel wheels though :(

oh ya, GREAT looking cruiser too! :smokin:

Hey Jimbo, Shouldn't you be restin?:) You are gonna need all your energy this weekend. Besides I think the log would look great if you just went with the cow pattern, not stripes. But then again you can never go wrong with camo. later

The chrome bezels were actually a factory dealer option. I personally think chrome doesn't belong on a cruiser, except for maybe daylighters. ;)

That would be correct. I'm definitely running against the grain in this forum being SUA. I've decided that this just isn't the truck for a SOA. When I do SOA, I'm going to stretch the wheelbase alot, and lose a lot of the body, possibly do a tube frame etc, with some MUCH larger tires etc. My current FJ40 is a bit too nice to just hack up like that. I'll leave this one as is (since it works) and just buy another cruiser that I can go crazy with. I'm actually thinking of starting with a FJ45 with a rear tubeframe/flatbed. Could be fun.

BTW, here's a picture of how the cage goes into the dash since I have no idea where the original thread is now.

That was the conclusion that I came to eith my 40. SUA, 4.88s, ARBs front and rear on 35s. I want to go bigger tires because with the 4.88s it tops out at 55 mph. I just don't want to have to redo the suspension, again. I'd rather build a buggy or an FJ45 half buggy.:D

If I had one of these waiting in the house (not the dog :flipoff2:), I probably wouldn't work on the Cruiser at all.;)
