Alright, im a land cruiser guy so i dont know the specs on a '82 blazer that im thinking of buying (for parts)
now, im not a complete retard and i know this one has a 350, th350, and a 12 bolt rear.
what i want to know is:
What is the front end? d60???
does it have p/s??....ya i know i should have asked him...
Is this a pretty reliable drivetrain??
BTW, owner swapped out 305 for 350, 350, ??? combo. does anybody know what t/c it has? The owner said it was the "cast one".
and lastly, is this a good deal for 700 buks (blazer w/bad body & good drivetrain)???

Any good running 4x4 for under a grand is a good deal if you ask me.

front end will be a 10 bolt (8.5-in. 1.28 Axle Dia. 28 Spline)
it should have power steering (I've never seen or heard of one without)
Unless the owner did anything funny...it should have an NP 208 for a t-case (2.61:1 Low Range).
I think '82's came with a 10 bolt for a rear. I guess he swapped out the rear?
As far as reliable...depends on what you're going to do with it. If the drive train is on a blazer, I wouldn't go any bigger than 33's if you have a heavy foot, 35's if you have a light foot.

Oh...and the 350 is a good motor. Parts are easy to get and cheap and you can build them to put out alot of power.
the TH350 will take alot of abuse as long as you put a tranny cooler on it :)

Sound good to me. Check out http://www.coloradok5.com/specs.shtml for some specs. It should be a 10 bolt front and rear with a 208 (but that's already been covered). The 208 isn't a bad case if you aren't going to go nuts with it. They have a better low range than the 203 or 205, but are made from aluminum, so they aren't nearly as strong. The good news is they are cheap and easy to replace if you do nuke it, kind of like the 10 bolt axles.........

don't swap 10 bolts in there not to strong, better make that itleast a 44/44 or 60/14 bolt, depending on tire size

69 & 67.....holy crap!! That would be one goofy cruiser!
i wouldnt swap them for length anyways, as this is a 90% daily driver w/ wheeling on the weekends :D
you guys think it would be too wide?? the cruiser axles are like 55 or something....

There isn't much difference in strength between a 10 bolt and a 44!
The main difference is the 44 has slighty larger carrier bearings and that isn't by much.

Muddin sum'd it up pretty good. But if the owner said the tcase is cast, then it could be either a 203 or a 205. Look under it and see what it looks like. If it looks like two boxes bolted together it is a 203. If it looks like one box it is a 205. But some ealry Chevys came with a Dana 20. It is a possibility..

thanks for the info krylon, but the deal fell thru cuz i bought a 79 chev van!
but i measured and the axles would not look that bad...about half the tire would stick out of the side and i think it would look cool maybe?
