if its electric its a BW 1354. Its a stout enough case I guess, Ive never heard of one breaking. But your limited to the a4ld/m5od trannies. I have heard of a d20/1354 doubler and I know there lots of 1350/1354 doublers but thats about it.

I would just run a 1350/1354 doubler and call it a day. Alot of guys have been running them hard with no problems. Talk To DangerRanger hes been beating on his for a couple years now.

yea the 1345/1345 doubler is a pretty stoute setup..several people sell kits and complete units...they take all kinds of abuse!!

It will bolt to any RBV tranny... but you existing driveshafts only work with an M5OD/A4LD... yeah.

Gouky, I searched for info about it but didn't come up with anything. What bellhousing did you use to mate the 435 to the 4L OHV? I didn't think the 4L had the same pattern as the small blocks. Do you have a post about it? Like I said I searched and came up with nada. Thanks.

i used this thing: http://www.4-x-fab.com/Transmission_adapters.php

It works great, i had the prototype unit. he's going to enter production soon.

the problem i had after swaping that was that i could not keep the 4.0L's together anymore. the valvetrain just dosen't put up to the abuse that my lead foot puts out.

so i'm off to 302 land, but it really was a pretty good combination and should work for people that have 4.0L's in better shape that the ones i picked up.

with that adapter, you can run ANY full size ford tranny behind it. the np435/np205 fits perfectly in an explorer/ranger. tucks up even higher than the stock drivetrain.

You may not be familiar, with an Explorer... but I cut my teeth on old RBVs..

Ranger, BroncoII, Explorer = RBV.

Ranger's/BroncoII's had TK4, TK5, FM145, FM146 and M5OD 5 speeds. And the C3, C5, and A4LD autos. The C3 was 2wd only, and the C5 was 4x4 only.

I put a C5 into my 1992 exploder and retained the 1354E. Some splices for the NSS and it works flawless. No CEL with the stock EEC either.
