good morning...I just picked up this little gem for $800.00 the guy who owned it is moving back to Isreal to be with Family and back into the Isreali Army...he needed to get rid of it and I have always liked the round eye rovers so I wasn't going to let this pass up...plus I didn't want it to go to the junkyard he was about to sell it to...

I have some ???? as I am a jeep person and always wheel my TJ but I was thinking this would make a nice camping/wheeling rig...

Engine tick - I researched here that it may need an oil flush (alreadyu contacted a local guy from Rangerovers.net about this)...seems to be a tap...not an exhaust leak as I got plenty of experience with them from jeep

Only reall problem I have noticed is the AC compressor clutch does not engage (bad switch? broken wire to the compressor?) haven't had too much time to troubelshoot but will be on vacation this week...

valve cover gaskets are leaking which is an easy fix...oil pan gasket shows signs of a recent gasket change with blueRTV? Dunno if that is a OEM thing...but it doesn't leak, just the valve gaskets leaking a little on the exhaust with smoking...

here she is :D flame away! :D

I didn't tow it like this, I was snapping pics prior to taking it off the trailer :p

I hate you. You always find the great buys.

The leaking is to let you know it has fluids in it. When it stops leaking it is empty and you need to refill it. If you fix the leaks how will you ever know it's empty?
It's cool in England so the ac (aircon in Brit speak) compressor is only there for looks.
Calling it "Rovie" confirms gayness on your part.:)

Was second prize two old rovers?

Anway, check all the lines (oil cooler, transmission, AC, fuel) unless they've been serviced recently, they'll all need changing. Are any of the floorboards left?

The good news is that there are a lot of smart rover people around richmond that can give you the help you'll (definately) need.

Probably Crozet.:D
I have my POS back together after the head gasket job, now I need to fix the timing to see if it starts and leaks. I do NOT want to pull the spare engine from the parts truck at the moment...:flipoff2:
