There spring perches how special can they be  Get some .25"x2.5" channel iron or square tubing and use a hole saw or cutting torch for the relief. What do you need the spacer for.

I used the orginal cast ones from my wag axles and added 7" long 5/8" thick plates on top. Cranked the big welder up and burned um on. Simple

I made mine out of 2.5"x2.5"x1/4" box tubing. A good cutoff wheel on the grinder and a couple hours later i had 4 perches. I made mine 7" long similar to the MORE perches. Easy enough:D

Sounds like a :rainbow: way to add some lift.

not just a lift..
just adding on .. my perchs are stressed now... so thats why im looking at making new ones..im doing a spring over puttin d-44's under .. so its not jsut a cheap lift.. just adding a lil extra while ive got it tore down swaping axles..!

It's easy like YJ4ROX said take some 2.5x2.5x1.4 square stock and use a small paint can or something that has the same diamater as you axle tube to trace out a semicircle on both sides (make sure both sides are aligned though) and use a torch or plasma or a cutting wheel what ever ya got......I did mine with the torch and it took about 5 minutes to make them...Just had to clean up the mounting surfaces for a snug fit. Then drill a hole for your spring center pin.
I think I made mine 6 inches long.

You've said the point is not to add lift, so is it to control axle wrap? I didn't think the longer perches helped that much with axle wrap.

Most of the time spring pad failure is due to loose u-bolts because of stretch or new springs and they never got retightend. Go buy some Warrior Products ones and add a plate to the top if you feel you must but I say just keep an eye on the u-bolts to be sure they stay tight.
