Volvo C303, 2k and a drive to pick them up. With lockers, wheels and actuator stuff, range rover most likely will get them.

as from where . . . well I got the last set. I am not saying as I know the platinium card set will try to buy them out from me, but more should be on the way so if you are really interested PM me.

Ron

PS anyone need a set of RR axles or Scout D44s or an eaton?

Do you think they would make an Series II 88 too top heavy, that would be bolt in.

I also have that 109 rolling chassis and front end . . .

I guess I will have to see them first.

Hee, hee, hee! Okay Ron, there's no turning back now! I'd put them in your 88, but stretch the bieatch to 103 or so...Then dump the portals in it. It's gonna' be hard-core fab work no matter how you slice it (if you want coil springs....So get busy! (yea easy for me to say...It's only taken me one year to actually START working on mine!)...:emb:

AWSOME!!!!

:bounce: :bounce2: :bounce:

Are these the same axles that that rover runs in the malasian rain forest challenge??????

What are the specs - width, clearance, gearing, brakes etc

I was not kidding, they are damn close to BOLT on a series. I know oh to well that if I try to put them under the RR it will be a royal PITA. Ideally they should go under a 109 military chassis with parabolics amd a try back. I have a 109 chassis and drivetrain and pretty much everything else already to put that together. . . humm ... too many rovers. I start building something to beat on and in the end it becomes way too nice.

we will see. It takes a while for them to cross an ocean and clear customs.

Yup Sam. Same ones. A 2+year search/wait is almost over. As far as specs do a search on the BBS and I posted them all a while back.

xtremeaxle.com has some good pics.

6-7 total gearing!
67ish width but the wheels are lie hummer rims so they are not that wide at all. Xtremeaxle says 61in track width but that is due to the inset wheels.
Clearance 2miles :)

ok, so do these have the rumored problem of burning up at highway speeds?
and did you say $2000 including tires, rims and shipping?

evilfij

No tires but yes rims and springs (why I would want the springs I dunno but they come with them) I am NOT getting them from extreme axle (who wants 6-8k for a pair)

I am picking them up at a somewhat nearby location in the US so no extra shipping costs.

I have no idea about burning up at highway speeds. That, to my knowledge is a mog thing, and at 6.7 to 1 gearing it will be tough to get to "highway speeds"

:)

My current plan is to finish the 110 as a expedition rig for now and wheel with these either under my series II 88 or my Rangie or maybe build a beater 109 out of the left overs from the 110 conversion of the dormobible which would be ideal.

hey ron if you are picking them up in boston, let me know when cause i want you to stop by my plave on your way back to PA so i can take a look at those things. i am right on the mass pike so you should literally be driving right through my town anyways.

btw, if youre not going to use the 109 stuff, i am interested in hearing about it. i am looking for a 109 frame and rear body tub, both in ok to pretty good shape.

thanks man!
