Well project poo flinger is moving along again and its time to do some bending! I'm going to buy a JD2 model 3 bender but need suggestions on what dies to get.

I know I will be getting the 2" - 6.5 die to go with the metaltech cage work I already have.

I have the MAF 28 gal tank and want to build a seat mount that attaches to the hip bars. Not sure of what size tubing to make it from. I'm a fat arse and don't want bending of the bracketry.

I also plan on doing a swing out tire carrier/cooler. The main support will be 2" but was thinking 1" would be nice looking to wrap the cooler, but not completely opposed to something different. Any suggestions?

I am looking to get as much use out of it without alot of unneeded dies.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks, Coco

I think this is the first time I've posted up without having any suggestions. Post up.:grinpimp:

Well, this is shop/tools forum, not fabrication, per se. General tech might be a better palce to get responses. Just a suggestion.

You need a little more info to get good answers. Like the seat bracket part. It depends on how far you are spanning. And its not real clear, at least to me, why you mentioned the gas tank.

I put it in tools cause I'm planning on buying the bender and dies..

The span for the seats is across the width of a FJ40 about 4' or so. The MAF tank goes under both seats, so the idea of putting a brace down to the floor is VERY limited. Thanks for the reply. If the mod, feels this needs to be moved, sorry. Please move if needed. :D

You're not getting much feedback, becasue if you do a little searching you'll find it's been covered many times.

Most common recommendation is the 1.75" 5.5CLR, but you already are planning on a 2"-6.5 CLR die to match your existing tubework, and maybe a 1" or 1.25" 3.5CLR for smaller work.
