I did a search :flipoff2: and I have a couple of questions...
I'm using a J10 PS setup and it's going into my 73 cj5.
I need ideas on the pitman arm and drag-link connection. They don't match up (taper sizes, etc.) My idea is get the drag link off the J10 and use the J10 half for the pitman arm and leave the other half cj (hope that made sense :rasta: ) Any other ideas?
I need to figure out the steering shaft too, I'm planning to call Borgeson on this.
TIA for any help.

This might be a bit to easy :) how about using the CJ pitman arm from a power steering setup, or use the J10 arm with high steer arms. Get rid of the rag joint on the box and use the bell coupler from your 5.

Will the pitman arm from a PS setup on a CJ fit the J10 box? If so, I know a yard where I can find one.
I planned to ditch the rag joint. I'll figure out the coupler. I'm sure a mail order place sells them.

Yeah the pitman arm fits in the same orientation only the CJ arm is a little shorter and different taper. 4wd hardware sells the coupler, the manual bell coupler fits the smaller shaft on the box and I think the J10/Cherokee with the rag joint uses the smaller shaft, so you may not even have to buy one.

Thanks again for the info...
I'll get the CJ pitman arm and I'll call 4wd Hardware about the coupler. It is about the same diameter, but there are more fine splines on the CJ coupler.
Yep it's a crapshoot on the coupler. Some of the FSJ's are the 3/4 input like a manual CJ and some are 13/16" like a power CJ. Once you pop the rag joint off you just have to cut the "nipple" off ot the J10 input shaft. Once you have the correct bell coupler it's a bolt in with a CJ power steering pitman arm.

Definitely get rid of the rag joint. I broke one, and replaced it with a new one. I proceeeded to break this one too,and this time it took out the tranny cooler, power steering return, and front bake lines. I replaced the whole thing with parts out of the spicer catalog, and ended up with something that on paper will take 30 hp at 1000 rpm :)
With my various discounts, I ended up with greaseable ujoints in the shaft for about 1/2 the cost of a Borgesson or Flaming River.
If you go to Flaming River's or Borgesson's site (can't remember which), it tells what the spline counts on the various boxes and the shafts commonly found in jeeps, and other vehicles too. using this I started cross referencing numbers to get to the splined steering yokes I needed.
So far, no more problems.
HTH.
