I used to own a '91 and now my bro owns a '92 so I am kinda familiar with MJ's. I like 'em. If all you want is a regular cab truck they are pretty good base material. If you want 6" of lift just be aware that the rear of MJ's use different springs than XJ's. You can use all the front XJ lift components to get the amount of lift you want. But for the rear your best bet is to go spring over, which is super easy to do and gets you about 5" of lift. The XJ lifts that are use on MJ's for the rear don't give you but about half the lift. Spring over is your best bet, and then go with some longer shackles or MJ specific lift springs. If you are going to wheel your MJ hard then you need to swap in a Ford 8.8" out of an explorer or the rare MJ Dana 44 or XJ Dana 44. The front should be fine if you leave it open, if you lock it you'll need to spring for a custom Dana 44 etc. All other Cherokee mods should work for your MJ. I loved my MJ, it was my first 4x4 that I bought new and I beat the piss out of it learning to wheel. If you have any other question just post and I'll get back to you. Good luck!

I don`t think you can go wrong with a Mj , I`ve owned and wheeled mine for the past four years and realy like it. I would recomend that you try to get a short bed though, mine is a long bed and it`s my only complaint about the truck, too much rear overhang and the wheel base is kinda long at 119". I plan to build a flat bed and bob the frame soon. As the above post said all the XJ suff works in the front but the rear springs are longer than the XJ but a SPOA will get you about 6 inches with the stock springs. I can`t seem to get my pics to show but you can check out my Comanche on 35`s at www.comanche.alloffroad.com.
Here's a friend of mine with his 99" wheelbase MJ...

He took a long bed and cut 26"s out of the frame then took a short box and cut 16" out of it.

The rims weren't so bling bling after Judgement Day, Predator, Axle Alley, Woodpecker, Sledgehammer, and Outer Limits in six days. :D
