What did you do, I.m building a flat fender on postal frame, outboarded fronts, waggy wide track. Looks like I'll have extend the upper mounts out quite a bit, anyone have a clean, strong way of doing this? Thanks Domenic:beer:

You could build some hoops, if you have room, use f-250 shock towers. I made mine out of 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" rect. tubing 3/16" thick. Cut and angled them up and out from the frame a bit and trimmed a little inner fender away. Welded some shock mounting studs to them. They are about 9" above the frame. I run rancho 9012's. Just measure how much travel you need and start fabricating. The F-250 towers work nice. Stock waggy front tower are a few inches taller than factory CJ and much taller than what is on your DJ frame.

This is pretty much what I did too. Except that mine are made from round tubing and are almost touching the underside of the flat part of the fender. I mounted the bottom of the shock on the u-bolt plate which is a stock blazer plate with a mounting stud welded into the hole where the sway bar was mounted. It works great.

I'm using the factory lower mount on my waggy 44, I had bent them slightly outward so the shock body wouldnt hit the plate the u-bolts go through. I probably have some pics somewhere, but no red star, If you want I could e-mail something.
