hey guys, im about to put 5:29s in my toyota axles and im wandering what steps i need to do to do it right, like how do i measure the gears after i put them in to make sure there close together??? do i need shims, what bushings or can i reuse my stock bushings??? thanks

This might be more than you want to do on your own. I do just about all my own work but gear installs are the one thing I haven't take on yet. The primary problem is specialized tools. You need a dial style inch pound torque wrench ($200), a press ($300?) and different accessories for the press ($100), etc. I've had 4 R&Ps installed so far and I'm still ahead of where I'd be if I bought the tools and did it myself. Plus I know it's done right. None of his installs have ever let me down.
