: YJ Stuff on a CJ5?
Steven_Mc 06-07-2002, 07:31 AM Will a YJ Hood, Grill, and Fenders fit on a CJ5? I know if you swap only the fenders you have to drill the new holes for the grill... Can I just mount the YJ Grill in the stock CJ grill location? Will the radiator fit? Also will a YJ hood line up with the curves of the CJ body?
I searched and couldn't find anything except putting YJ fenders on a CJ.
My first thought would be if I mount the YJ grill in the CJ grill location the hood might not line up with the top of the grill.
Mike Garner did it on his Feep, so it can be done. Donno what he did to get it that way though and I couldn't imagine doing it myself.
Jacob 06-07-2002, 12:04 PM why would any one want to do that?
how are you going to disgrace a CJ-5 like that
YJs suck
i hate wranglers:flipoff2:

You fawking moron. It's not what you bought, but what you build. It's a jeep that's a good build platform. :flipoff:
To answer the question:
The CJ hood won't line up with the YJ Grill. the Cj radiator won't fit the YJ grill. You may have to redrill the fenders and the grill support for the radiator. With fabrication, anything is possible. Why do it? I run a YJ and finally got used to the square headlights after 4 years. Stay CJ.
Jacob 06-07-2002, 02:30 PM real jeeps have round headlights
new wranglers suck too
not as bad as yjs though
my friend has a yj and it is the most worthless jeep i have ever ridden in or driven or worked on
stick with CJ

Bah. You're just a fawking newbie troll.:flipoff2:
RCKRATZ 06-07-2002, 03:35 PM  this thread is :rainbow:
Why exactly do you want to put the yj clip on the CJ? It just seems like alot more work then it is worth
Steven_Mc 06-07-2002, 05:11 PM I was just assesing other options. I'm going to have to replace the fenders soon and the hood, and so I thought why not try something different. Thanks for your help. I'll be sticking with the CJ parts, they're more than adequate.

I think you are just jealous you don't own a Wrangler. :flipoff2:
Codeman 06-07-2002, 07:45 PM aww cut him some slack, he just dosen't know wtf hes talkin about :smokin:
todd kelch 06-07-2002, 07:55 PM yj fenders with a cj hood and grill will work well with little modification.(drill the fender supports closer than factory yj and fill in factory holes)this will give you a bigger wheel well opening and a better platform for the tj flairs if you want to run them.
Jacob 06-07-2002, 11:09 PM the only way i would take a wrangler would be if it was free
then id sell it to some wannabe offroader
wranglers blow
the rubicon is alright though
it needs a 360 to be as bad as a CJ

Dude, you're cracking me up. Keep this shit going. Let's put your CJ-5 against my Wrangler.
Jacob 06-08-2002, 07:02 AM if i invested as much money in my CJ-5 as you have in your wrangler i would tear you up all day:flipoff2:
the only reason you said that was because of my specs
lets see you go up against the likes of indy CJ or rock taxi
CJs dominate
wranglers are for yuppies
Keep posting Jacob and really convince us how ignorant you are. For what it's worth I have never owned anything but CJ's, but I do know just how capable and tough a YJ can be. To say that any Jeep with no modifications is worth a damn is just ignorant. Any Jeep can be built to kick ass as a wheeler, not just CJ's. Who leaves any of them stock anyhow? Rock Taxi? I don't think so.

You're just a little dweeb. You have no idea what I have invested. You also missed the real point. Based upon what you're spewing here, I could probably out wheel you in a Corolla. It's not the machine, it's the driver.
If CJ's dominate so well, why is it you want to make your CJ into a one ton truck? Heh, I have had 6 CJ's before my YJ. I still own the rarest CJ you can get... Anyhow, let's see some tech out of you, little dweeb troll. I am out of this.
Jacob 06-08-2002, 09:07 AM i was just giving my opinion
you have a nice looking jeep
why do a mod that takes style away from a classic
Jacob 06-08-2002, 09:09 AM you dont own the CJ-4
Meyer 06-08-2002, 10:35 PM This is a :rainbow: thread...
Do a search on IndyCJ and you'll find his junk is in a million pieces... it'll be cool eventually, but he's at least 6 months from finishing. And I don't think the Rocktaxi has leaf springs anymore.
I'm really bored... can't believe I wasted effort responding to this... must be the
became very JU very quickly.
Steve N 06-08-2002, 11:54 PM Dude get a fawking grip. Stock '64 CJ5's suck balls for wheeling. They have frames that are a joke compared to a YJ, They have a crappy little engine, they have spindly axles. Remember I'm saying stock. Sure you can build a nice CJ5 or you can build a nice YJ. If you said you didn't like the looks of a YJ, or even A CJ5 then at least you are making a subjective opinion. The fact that you can't figure that out sounds to me like you are just ignorant.
