ive got a line on a 1988 f350,

i know is has a hp60 front, its a 351 and auto, but the rest i'm unsure of.

is the engine carbed or some kind of fi? what tranny and tcase did these come with? rear axle? i'm guessing 9"?

i'm debating buying the whole thing for a drivetrain for my buggy, but would like some info on what they came with.

hmm. not quite what i wanted to hear. i was hoping for a 205 and 9". i've never even heard of the 13-56, whats the scoop on it? junk? and the 10.25? worth keeping for a buggy? i'd probably eventually end up at 14b either way

then again, the price is good enough just to get it for the 60 and efi 351....

The 1356 isnt junk. 10.25 is fine also but Ive only seen a few people running them in buggys on the forum.

there's nothin wrong with either of them. the t-case has lower gears and is about 1/2 the weight. down side is that it has a slip yoke, but you can get a fixed yoke from a bronco. and you cant twin stick it, but you can cut it up and use it as a doubler. the sterling is a great axle, you will probably never find anybody that has one say anything bad about it, other than in the 80's they had some pinion issues. i don't remember what yr they fixed that. and you will always find them at the wreckers cheap.

btw, they have better ground clearance than the 14b and all the ford cases are 31 spline so when you go out to look for a 205 there's only one to look for . no racetrack or round and the other half a dozen variations.
