What is a good winch capacity for normal use? I won't be wheelin to often, but i think it would be a good idea to have one just in case. Better safe than sorry right?

Really depends on your rig and weight. A good rule is 1.5 X your rigs weight.

yes, that is what i was taught a while ago about winching..basically, go on your driver side door, open it, and it will save gvwr and a number next to it. take that, and multiply it by 1.5 or just add half the trucks weight onto it and that is what you will need.
