Just wondering, how many of you have snapped these? I have a D60 front with warn hubs, I look down at them and one snapped off & one went for a walk and didn't come back! :mad: :mad: I run 38.5" SX's if that helps. how hard will it be to get the busted one out?

we bust/lose @ least 2 hub bolts per wheelin trip. E-Z Out/hand-drill/spare bolts have become trail tool staples.

Cool, now when you break them do you replace all of them or just the ones you broke?

Doesnt matter if you replace them all or not. they will break again. Just do yourself a favor and dont use Grade 8. They will break too and they are MUCH worse to get out. Welcome to the land of external hubs. Sucks to be you :flipoff2:

If you can get a set of slugs for the 60 run them. It works for the 44's that have the externally mouned hubs.........

What are "Slugs"?

Slugs are solid machined pieces that interface between the shaft and the hub. Think of it as "all the time" engagement. It looks like a flattened donut with splines on the outside, like a quarter, and splines on the outside for the shaft. This is a fairly accessible junkyard part - just look for axles with solid endcaps on the ends of the hubs (like the chrome ones on waggy 44's). Beat these off and inside you'll see the slug. Some waggy ones even have lightening holes drilled through them (or are they for grease? weird design in any case).
