My dad's Warn 6000 is on its last leg (bearing going bad and leaking oil). Anybody know where or even if I can get a rebuild kit for it? I looked on the Warn site and did not see anything. Also if I can get a rebuild kit, is there anybody in the CA central valley that does the rebuild or is it a pretty easy task that anybody can do?
Thanks,
-Brian

You'll probably get more help over on the general board. Just a suggestion. :flipoff2:

I did get a very nice Prestolite double ball bearing motor for my POS Ramsey from Western Motor supply though... www.wms1.com

Email Warn's customer service department....Anne Sned?icore? something-like-that has been very good about emailing me back with information, including faxing out the tech sheets on my ancient 1974 Warn Bellevue.

If it's an older winch, there is only one source for rebuilt/replacement parts, and it's in Minnesota. I wish I remembered the name....but Anne (or whomever) outta know it.

If it's bearings, remove them and hit your local bearing house. They can cross-reference. Motors for the ancient winches are exchange-rebuild only, so a local shop will server just as well.

Thanks woody. The winch is ancient. I will contact warn customer service.
