[newbie questions]
Ok, I'll admit, this is a very newbie question so be gentle.

A friend of a friend has a set of Dana 60's that he's looking to get rid of. From what he's said, they are from a '79 F250 and have 4.10's in 'em. No prob, sounds good so far, 'specially for the $400 (total) he wants for them.

The part that I'm not certain of is that he's said they are "not king pin" style. Anybody got an idea of what other type they might be? Is it worthwhile to pick up, or should I steer clear?

Oh, and here's a pic of the axles:

To further the question, he wants to get rid of the truck's engine (a 400), transmission, and divorced transfer case. He's asking $200 (total) for all that. Worth it?

If they axles are indeed the ones in the picture $400 is a steal. If I were you I would scrape together $400 immediately and go get them before someone else does.

That is definitely a king pin front axle. Grab them!

Hell, even if it is a balljoint axle, it's still a good deal.

Those are in fact kingpin axles. Your pal is blind, or he misspoke. No balljoint 60's in 70's trucks.

That front end is worth about $1400 out here. :D

i see king pins, nice find. As for the tranny and divorced case, i guess it just depends on if you need them. But i would say if they were in working condition as a pair they would be worth what he is asking.

What do you think about the rest of the stuff? Its a 400 long block engine (I'm guessing a 6.6L Cleveland V8), transmission, 8 to 1 granny gear, and divorced t-case.

$200 for the rest of it reasonable?
