: nissan value
DOUGSKEWL 07-09-2007, 08:28 PM i just bought an 83 nissan pickup and am unsure of its value and am unsure if it would be worth putting money into and making modifications. also, why is there eight plugs on this 4cyl. my plans are to put the stock axles out of my dodge under it along with a few othe modifications and a lot of cutting and removal of parts
bodyman909 07-09-2007, 09:27 PM Damm!you got an oldie there.
The z motors had 2 plugs per cylinder for better performance and power.
Those 83's arent worth much but when your all done with the axle swap it'll be worth somethin.Several peeps have done SAS's on em.

nissannut 07-10-2007, 06:23 AM That looks like an 85 or 86 720 ST. ST is the SE model. I see the oil and volt gauge in center console.
85 is the first year of that bed. 86 is the last year. That NAPS-Z or Z24 motor was used until 89 in the D21 series. It was fuel injected in some 86 720s.

NAPS-Z means Nissan Anti Pollution System. It really works well. The cross flow hemi head has 2 plugs to burn all the gases.
JeffX 07-10-2007, 06:38 AM Personally, I would find one in better condition to put money into. With that body and interior, I would have a tough time spending thousands on major mods.
That one is probably worth throwing a body lift, some 33's and some rattle-can on and drive it til it blows up...
87 pathy 07-10-2007, 06:40 AM i'll give ya 50 bucks for it..
rust and all

Please don't take offense to this, but from your typing, I'm assuming you don't live in the u.s., and if not, anything we tell you won't mean much where you're from.
If you are from the u.s., give specifics on it. Miles, 2wd/4wd, manual/auto, 4cyl/v6, etc.
Slyp Dawg 08-02-2007, 08:05 AM in my mind, that little Nissan PU is begging, no pleading, for a long travel rear 4 link and long travel front end and some good jumps. put some power mods on the engine (less restrictive exhaust, better intake, you know, mostly simple stuff) and it could be a sorta competent offroader. until it falls apart, that is

I agree, a nice lift on it, roll cage, axles...
To me it's worth dumping money into it, while your friends will complain about denting their rigs or rolling them you'll be romping over big boulders (or splashing through 4' deep mud holes depending where you live) and getting all the ladies' attention :flipoff2:
DOUGSKEWL 08-05-2007, 07:22 AM I just bought it so my girlfriend will quit getting pissed when i take my full size dodge out to play. she was none to happy when i bent the front axle.
Planned Mods are simple.
swapping axles from my dodge. with coils front and rear
roll cage and skid plates
new exhaust
homemade snorkel intake.
33x12.5 15 wrangler mtr's off my dodge.
i am not planning on spending mega bucks as my uncle and myself can do the fabrication and i have plenty of 2 1/4 bar from racecars. but i am sure it will eventually burn a hole in my pocket, but i feel its better than the 15,000 for the two atv's i want.
